About this funding program
DISHA 3.0, an initiative by IITI DRISHTI CPS FOUNDATION at IIT Indore, has evolved into a comprehensive national platform dedicated to Technology Translation, Commercialization, and Real-World Healthcare Deployment. Building on the success of DISHA 1.0 and 2.0, this program aims to transform breakthrough ideas into deployable healthcare technologies.
Targeting researchers, faculty members, students, innovators, and DPIIT-recognized startups across India, DISHA 3.0 focuses on Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) in Digital Healthcare. This includes cutting-edge areas such as Medical Devices, Wearables, AI/ML, IoT & Robotics, Point-of-Care Diagnostics, and Healthcare Analytics. The program is specifically designed to accelerate market adaptation of new technologies originating from academic laboratories, providing essential resources to aid their commercialization journey through startup creation.
Beyond financial support, DISHA 3.0 offers expert mentorship, intellectual property (IP) and commercialization guidance, and critical product trial and deployment assistance through its CHARAK DT Platform. This platform facilitates collaboration with anchor clinical and industry partners, ensuring that innovations are validated and integrated into real-world healthcare infrastructure. The program is committed to inclusive innovation, with special funding support and a 20% reservation provision for SC-led projects within the broader pool of eligible applicants.

Timelines & Process
Selection Process
The selection process for DISHA 3.0 is rigorous, involving multiple stages of evaluation by internal and external experts. Initial entries are shortlisted based on their alignment with the program's focus areas, innovation potential, estimated market size, and funding requirements. Shortlisted applications then undergo a peer review by faculty members and technical experts from the DRISHTI CPS Foundation. Following this, candidates are invited for a technical presentation before internal and external domain experts. The final stage involves a review by the External Investment Committee, comprising academics, industry leaders, and healthcare experts. This committee evaluates the projects through a 10-minute presentation followed by a 10-minute Q&A session. Selected candidates will then proceed to due diligence and documentation.

What is the IITI DRISHTI CPS Foundation?
The IITI DRISHTI CPS Foundation is the Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) for System Simulation, Modelling, and Visualization of Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) established at IIT Indore. Registered as a Section 8 company, it has been upgraded to a Technology Translation Research Park (TTRP) under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS), supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. It specifically focuses on Digital Healthcare.
What kind of technologies are you looking for?
We are seeking Cyber-Physical Systems technologies within Digital Healthcare where the proof-of-concept has been established and a prototype is ready. The technology will be evaluated based on its innovation, technical and practical feasibility, market potential, and societal/economic impact. This program is strictly for commercialization-focused projects, not academic research pursuits.
Who is eligible to apply for DISHA 3.0?
The scheme is open to faculty members and students associated with approved higher education institutions across India, particularly Principal Investigators (PIs) with market-ready products. Startups already incorporated as Private Limited Companies by eligible faculty and students, as well as DPIIT-recognized startups working in the specified domains, are also eligible. There is a 20% reservation provision for SC-led projects.
What is the equity and revenue sharing model?
In line with NM-ICPS guidelines, the program involves equity transfer and revenue sharing to ensure the hub's long-term sustainability. For grants, up to 3% equity is typically transferred. In cases of commercialization and business opportunities facilitated by the Foundation, a revenue share of 15%–30% of Net Sales from the respective deal may apply. For follow-on funding facilitated by the Foundation, a Success Fee of typically 2%–5% of the investment amount may be charged.
What are the rules regarding equipment procurement?
High-value equipment procurement (above ₹2 lakh) is typically handled by the IITI DRISHTI CPS Foundation, with asset ownership remaining with the Foundation. Such equipment must be made available to Foundation affiliate members at a nominal cost with a minimum 50% discount and listed with the Foundation's shared national resources. Proposals with capital assets exceeding 30% of the total grant are discouraged, and procurement of personal electronic devices like laptops is not permitted through the grant.
What happens if a PI or student leaves or changes their host institution during the project?
If a PI or student leaves or changes their host institution, funding for the project stops, and the host institution is required to inform the Foundation. Any unspent funds must be returned within one month, along with the Utilization Certificate and equipment. If the project is to continue with the new institution, an NOC from the current host and a new sanction letter are required.
