Solutions that reduce greenhouse gas emissions using biotechnology, enable climate-resilient healthcare systems, or promote sustainable climate-resilient agriculture are the primary focus areas of this CoE.

What non-monetary support is provided?

Beyond funding, selected innovators receive incubation at C-CAMP, mentorship from domain experts, access to C-CAMP''s world-class biotech research infrastructure, validation support, and assistance with deployment and market scale-up.

Is the programme only for startups or can academic researchers apply?

Both startups and academic innovators working on bio-based climate solutions are welcome to apply, provided they are willing to engage in the mentorship, incubation, and commercialisation pathway supported by C-CAMP.

Centre of Excellence for Sustainability & Climate Action at C-CAMP

The Centre of Excellence for Sustainability & Climate Action is launched under C-CAMP’s Bio for Climate Initiative, in collaboration with Ashraya Hastha Trust (AHT). The CoE is envisioned as an integrated platform to identify, nurture, fund, mentor, deploy, and scale bio-based climate solutions.

The programme focuses on innovations at the intersection of climate change with environment, healthcare, and agriculture, leveraging deep biological sciences to address root causes of climate change while mitigating its impacts on societal well-being.

Key focus areas include:

Reducing greenhouse gas emissions and carbon burden through biotechnology
Enabling climate-resilient and climate-friendly healthcare systems
Promoting climate-resilient and sustainable agriculture

Through investment, incubation, mentoring, validation, deployment, and scaling support, the CoE aims to catalyse biology-led innovations that strengthen climate resilience in India and beyond.
