About this competition

Specathon 2026 is a 36-hour national-level hackathon organized by GRADIENT CLUB, the technical club of the Department of CSE (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) of St. Peter’s Engineering College, Medchal, Telangana. The event brings together undergraduate students from across India to collaborate intensively on innovative projects within a limited timeframe.

Who Should Apply Open to all undergraduate students from recognized institutions across India. Teams of 2–4 members are encouraged, and interdisciplinary teams are welcome. Each participant can only be part of one team.

Tracks / Themes Participants can choose from the following domains: Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Data Science, Agriculture, Waste Management, Blockchain, Auto Tech, IoT (Internet of Things), Open Innovation, and Low Poverty. This wide range ensures that students from diverse academic backgrounds can find a relevant challenge.

Format & Timeline The hackathon runs over two days: September 11 and 12, 2026, at St. Peter’s Engineering College. Day 1 begins with an inauguration, followed by project work and three review sessions (idea, progress, and functionality). Day 2 includes entertainment, continued building, a fourth review, and a final presentation by top teams. Winners are announced at the closing ceremony at 5 PM on Day 2. Judging criteria include innovation, technical implementation, usability, impact, and presentation clarity.

Prizes Total cash prize pool of ₹60,000 distributed as: 1st place — ₹30,000 (WINNER), 2nd place — ₹20,000 (FIRST RUNNER UP), 3rd place — ₹10,000 (SECOND RUNNER UP). All participants receive a participation certificate.

Eligibility Open to all undergraduate students from recognized institutions. Teams must have 2–4 members. Shortlisted teams are required to pay ₹400 per member to cover accommodation and food during the event.

About the Organiser GRADIENT CLUB is the technical club of the Department of CSE (AI & ML) at St. Peter’s Engineering College. The club regularly organizes technical events and hackathons to foster innovation and hands-on learning among students.

How to Apply Registration deadline is August 20, 2026. Teams must submit an abstract for shortlisting. Shortlisted teams will be notified by August 23, 2026. Apply via the official Unstop page linked above.

Amount: Up to ₹60,000

What You Get

Winning teams share a total cash prize pool of ₹60,000: 1st place gets ₹30,000, 2nd gets ₹20,000, and 3rd gets ₹10,000. Prizes are pure cash, so nothing is repaid and no equity is taken. Every participant receives a participation certificate. Beyond the money, the 36-hour format includes four structured review sessions, giving teams judging feedback on idea, progress, functionality, and final presentation. Shortlisted teams pay ₹400 per member to cover accommodation and food during the on-campus event.
